In a global era of loneliness and isolation, being online can be either a source of angst or one of engagement. It can set people apart or bring them together. It can rile you up or help you thrive.
I’ve found that being a creator, rather than just a consumer, fills me with insight, connection, and hope.
Through writing online regularly, you connect with your life, your values, and your purpose, and you meet other like-minded creators. And those new friends you meet often see the world from a refreshingly different point of view and live in different cultures on the opposite side of the globe.
No doubt you already read other writers online and are delighted, disarmed, and sometimes dazzled by them. But you may not yet be sure where you fit in as a creator, so you haven’t jumped in fully till now.
I get it, as I’ve been there too.
The world is waiting for your words
The idea of writing online may scare you. You might feel:
• nervous about putting your ideas out into the world.
• unsure of whether you’re “good enough” as a writer
• doubtful that anyone’s interested in what you have to say.
That’s why I’m starting the Words Worth Sharing community! To face those fears together and see them for the paper tigers they are.
There is a place for you online. After some exploration and a bit of guided discovery, you’ll find your creative home. I want to help you get there because I believe we grow by claiming our own voice, born of unique lived experiences and crafted skills. And, for sure, the world needs to hear authentic voices.
I’m a few years into writing online (LinkedIn, Medium, X, and some freelance writing for websites) and have self-published a book. So I’m likely just a few steps ahead of where you might be now in writing online, but probably years behind your own skills! Anyway, I’ve found that the art of creating is more of a spiral meander than a linear trek, so saying someone is ahead or behind doesn’t mean much.
Let’s start the fun of creative collaboration now.
A writing community built together
Words Worth Sharing is a community that empowers each other. You’ll feel at home here if you:
• are propelled by your values and believe in possibility and transformation
• have something to say that’s progressive and life-affirming
• are passionate about ushering in change in your field of interest because you see a better way
• know that learning never stops and needs a growth mindset.
What to expect?
I love to research and will curate the best writing tips and tricks, advice, and stories I can find and bring to you in a newsletter. Plus some short insights and writing from me.
It won’t be long, but I promise it will be worth your time.
I’ll welcome feedback and hearing what most resonates with you.
I’ll post once a week on Fridays, which will fly into your inbox once you’re subscribed.
Can't wait to see more from you and this community Jeanette! How exciting!
